Rev. Dr. David R. Peoples

Rev. David R. Peoples was born November 8, 1972, to Dr. Delma and the late Dr. Thomas H. Peoples Jr. of Lexington, KY. He is one of five children, which includes his two sisters and three older brothers. At the age of 6, he was baptized at the Historic Pleasant Green Baptist Church of Lexington, KY, where he remains a member to this day. He has been happily married since September 26, 1998, to the former Margaret Mosely. Sis. Peoples is a certified Master Instructor of Cosmetology with nearly 30 years in the beauty industry. Sis. Peoples and their daughter have recently opened a new business enterprise called "Faith Over Fear Esthetics, and Pearls Beauty Studio." Rev. and Sis. Peoples have been blessed with three wonderful children: Michael, Hannah (William) Andrew, and Rodmann.
Rev. Peoples was educated in the Lexington Public Schools and graduated from Bryan Station High School. He is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, receiving his B.A. in Political Science. He matriculated at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, KY, pursuing a Master of Divinity and received an Honorary Doctorate from Harvest Christian University.
Rev. Peoples announced his call to the ministry in 1997 and was ordained in 2000 under the pastoral leadership of his father, the late Rev. Thomas H. Peoples Jr. He was called to pastor Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Ironton, OH, where he served almost 10 years. He served for 31⁄2 years as Pastor of Centerville Missionary Baptist Church of Paris, KY. Rev. Peoples served as the organizing Pastor of Jabez Missionary Baptist Church of Lexington from 2019-2025. On September 28, 2025, Rev. Peoples became the Pastor of Imani Missionary Baptist Church in Lexington, KY.
Rev. Peoples has received numerous awards such as the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonel. He is a former member of the Board of Trustees for Simmons College of Kentucky in Louisville, KY. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He was honored to have one of his sermons published in Volume 2 of "The Best Preachers in 50 Years of PNBC." He has served as a National Instructor in the PNBC Congress of Christian Education. He served as State President of the Ohio PNBC. He served as 2nd Vice Moderator of the Mid-West Region PNBC. He has served as Regional Vice President of PNBC at Large of the Mid-West Region PNBC. He has served as the Chairman of Elections of PNBC. He has served as 2nd Vice President of PNBC, Inc., and as 1st Vice President of PNBC, Inc. On April 10, 2025, Rev. Peoples was inducted into the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Board of Preachers at Morehouse College. He is currently serving on the Faith Advisory Board for DoorDash and is a Faith Advisory Board member of the United Negro College Fund. He serves on the Government Board for the National Council of Churches, the Executive Board of the Conference of National Black Churches, and as a Delegate to the World Council of Churches. He currently serves as the President of the Progressive National Baptist Convention. To God Be the Glory.
