THRIVE — Perinatal Health, Workforce Development & Community Wellness
30,000+ Parents & Families Reached | ~4,000 Connected to Mental Health Services | ~600 Doulas Certified | 10-City Affiliate Pilot Launching
Over 30,000 pregnant and postpartum parents, children, and families have been connected to critical resources and services — establishing a national foundation for a new affiliate model now launching in cities where it is needed most.
Prior to the affiliate launch, this work connected approximately 4,000 individuals to mental health services and expanded the perinatal workforce by certifying nearly 600 culturally competent doulas. These outcomes — achieved independently — now inform an integrated, three-pronged affiliate model: a Perinatal Support Network providing direct maternal health support; Workforce Development training faith-community-based Thrive Ambassadors to support pregnant and postpartum women; and Mental Health Wellness Centers anchored within congregations to address the behavioral health dimensions of maternal care.
Targeting 10 houses of worship as affiliate pilot sites, this model advances a critical question: if trusted faith institutions erect these three pillars collaboratively in the communities that need them most, can they collectively reduce the alarming maternal health disparities that persist across our nation? The early evidence — and the reach already demonstrated — says the answer is worth pursuing at scale.
Where faith, health, and community meet — outcomes change.
